is a multidisciplinary clinic that brings together key specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of vestibular disorders and the prevention of falls. We aim to eliminate tedious visits to multiple doctors and find the right diagnosis on the day of your appointment.
Unlike primary care physicians or neurologists, we do not just diagnose, but provide therapy and treatment to prevent future life-threatening accidents, right here in our center.
Doctor Michael Heublum is a skilled and qualified neurologist serving the community of New York. He also completed his residency in internal medicine at Staten Island Hospital and residency in neurology at Mount Sinai Hospital. He then went on to complete a fellowship in neuromuscular diseases at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Heublum is affiliated with the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Heublum is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr. Jeffrey Shenfeld is a reliable and accomplished internist who caters to the people of Englewood, NJ. He treats various complex chronic disorders in adults related to chronic conditions, dizziness and vertigo, memory problems and more.
Dr Shenfeld expertise is in early detection, intervention and care for patients with early signs of cognitive decline and all kinds of dementia. His prevention approach is addressing risk factor levels at an early stage and continuing throughout the life course. Dr Shenfeld offers latest developments in genetic testing, computerised cognitive testing of short term memory and executive functions and exclusive imaging techniquest of volumetrics MRI and Amyloid PET Scans.

The Rod and Frame Test (RFT) is a diagnostic tool used to assess an individual's perception of verticality and spatial orientation. During the test, a participant puts on a virtual reality headset and is asked to align a rod to the vertical position while it is enclosed in a tilted frame. This task evaluates how visual and vestibular cues influence the perception of true vertical. The RFT is particularly useful in identifying visual dependency and vestibular dysfunction, as it can reveal how much a person relies on visual information for balance and spatial orientation. This test aids in diagnosing balance disorders, spatial disorientation, and related conditions, providing valuable insights.
The tilt table test (TTT) and autonomic nervous system (ANS) testing are diagnostic tools used to assess cardiovascular function and autonomic nervous system regulation. Both the tilt table test and ANS testing play crucial roles in diagnosing and understanding conditions related to cardiovascular function and autonomic nervous system regulation, providing insights into patient's co-morbidities that could exacerbate dizziness and vertigo symptoms.
We offer specialized vascular and cardiac ultrasound evaluations. This non-invasive imaging technique uses high-frequency sound waves to create detailed images of blood vessels and the heart, helping diagnose conditions like arterial blockages, aneurysms, and heart disease efficiently and safely. The ultrasounds we offer are echocardiograms to check heart functions, venous and arterial ultrasounds to check deep vein thrombosis or blood clots, and transcranial doppler ultrasound/Carotid Ultrasound to check the blood circulation in the carotid artery(artery inside the neck) and the blood flow to and inside the brain.
We provide specialized vestibular testing, including Videonystagmography (VNG) and caloric tests. VNG is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that uses infrared cameras to record eye movements, helping to detect disorders of the inner ear and central motor functions. Caloric testing involves stimulating the inner ear with warm or cool air or water to evaluate the function of the vestibular system, crucial for balance. These tests help diagnose conditions like vertigo, dizziness, and vestibular disorders such as, vestibular neuritis, BPPV and labyrinthitis. efficiently and safely, providing detailed insights into vestibular function.
We offer comprehensive hearing tests to evaluate your auditory health. Our tests include pure-tone audiometry, which measures your ability to hear sounds at different pitches and volumes, and speech audiometry, which assesses your ability to understand speech. We also provide ABR/cochlear microphonic to evaluate the outer hair cell function. These non-invasive tests help diagnose hearing loss, middle ear issues, and other auditory conditions efficiently and accurately, allowing us to tailor the best treatment plan for your hearing needs.
Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP) test is used to assess the function of the inner ear and its neural pathways. This non-invasive test involves placing electrodes on the neck and forehead to measure muscle responses to sound stimuli. VEMP testing helps diagnose balance disorders, vestibular nerve issues, and other inner ear conditions by evaluating the saccule and utricle, parts of the inner ear involved in balance. The VEMP test is safe, quick, and provides valuable information for developing effective treatment plans for vestibular disorders.
